Barbados Rum Punch

Origin: Adaptation of a Smuggler's Cove original based on traditional recipes
Glassware: Footed pilsner

        3/4 ounce fresh lime juice*
        1 ounce Demerara Syrup
        2 ounces blended aged rum (Barbados)
        1 dash Angostura bitters

Garnish: Freshly grated nutmeg
Fill a footed pilsner with cubed or cracked ice. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Fill with cubed or cracked ice. Shake and strain into the glass. Top with grated nutmeg.

* The original Smuggler's Cove recipe called for 1 ounce of fresh lime juice. I found that to be slightly off for my taste and reduced it to 3/4 ounce for a drink more to my liking.
